Describe what a Typical Day of Eating Looks like for you.

Black coffee then 5 pieces of thick cut bacon, 6 scrambled eggs scrambled in all the bacon fat from the strips. For dinner, it’s usually a steak with melted butter. Sometimes I have butter bites before meetings and sometimes I add beef jerky if I went to the gym that day. I have 1/4 cup of L. Reuteri yogurt everyday.

Your Keto/Carnivore Story

“It’s about the food” was a phrase I kept hearing in my head. This was back in 2022. I was an atheist at the time and I was very confused, I started wondering if this is what people meant by the Holy Spirit. I decided to listen to the calling and donated food to local resources, started hoarding food for our family or those in need, and donated money to food banks. I thought the phrase would leave my head once I checked the box, but it didn’t.

In 2023, my husband and I moved from NY to Arkansas. Again, I donated money to the local food bank, and built a vegetable garden. The garden was a huge undertaking which required clearing and leveling land, putting up fencing to keep deer out. The neighbor was involved, it was a big deal and yet I still heard “It’s about the food.”

During this time I was put on a 3rd heart medication to manage hypertension. The other 2 weren’t working well any more, so a 3rd was suggested. I had heard that the carnivore diet could help with hypertension, so, out of defiance, I started carnivore. I wanted to “stick it” to my doctor. Boy did I show her!

I promised myself I’d commit to 28 days. By the 3rd day I realized this was so much more than I ever dreamed, nothing hurt anymore. By the second week I realized there was deep healing happening and knew I’d be sticking with it for the long hall.

“It’s about the food” isn’t a mystery anymore. I know what it meant and I know what I have to do.

Epilogue: The vegetable garden didn’t make it. It has been repurposed into a “Vitamin D” garden with flowers and a spot for me to enjoy my morning coffee.

What is the best (or top 3) pieces of advice you could give someone starting their keto/carnivore health journey?

Just try it for 28 days, one week in you’ll be 25% done and you can do anything for a short amount of time.
Don’t worry about anything except eating what you enjoy for those first 28 days.
Sit back and watch your body take over the healing, it’s an amazing show and you don’t want to miss a minute of it.
